OFFICIAL LAUNCH: Meal Loop

The long anticipated wait is finally over!

Introducing:

Meal Loop has been an ongoing pet project of mine that was conceived back in the fall of 2007. I created Meal Loop because I was tired of going to the grocery store on Sunday trying to think of everything I was going to need for the upcoming week. I was always to busy (or lazy) to create a list, and it would never fail that by mid week I would end up running back to the store for something that I had forgotten.

Enter Meal Loop — problem solved. Meal Loop takes ordinary recipe repository sites a HUGE step further. The magic of Meal Loop starts with custom meal generation. By choosing user specific preferences, Meal Loop will generate a meal plan for each meal of the day, and each day of the week. Meal Loop will also use the weekly generated meals and create a grocery list of all the ingredients that are needed for the upcoming week. These features compose the core functionality of Meal Loop, but is only just the start. There are many more features to be added to make Meal Loop even more helpful in all aspects of nutrition. I encourage everyone to go check out the site and give it a try. If you have any questions, comments, criticisms, or ideas please dont hesitate to drop me a line at admin@mealloop.com.

What a great idea! I am annoyed by the very same thing. There are a lot of features you could add like sharing recipes or scraping recipes off of other sites……hmmm…..

I have something far easier. Monday is Ice Cream. Tuesday is Taco Bell. Wednesday is Wendy’s. Thursday is The Deli. Friday is Fridays. And the weekend is “Just Wing it”… Generally, wings at whatever bar I am at.

Good idea there Sam. Keep the wheels turnings.

I really hope she is kidding about what she eats. I try to eat healthy and stay trim and feel good and refuse to resort to junk foods on a daily basis.

I found it time consuming to cook every night of the week so I am trying a meal delivery service. The one I enrolled in lets me pick up my meals fresh at a local gym.
There are many options out there. I found a site that compares a few meal services that was helpful to me… I put that as my website link as I do not have a website. http://www.findmybargains.com/meal-services-compared/

yo, “she” really needs to watch her figure. how much you tipping the scales these days fatty? 155? I thought waistline was a status symbol…the bigger the girth, the more money you make to feed it.

cool idea stam. sell out, make a couple mil and get back to me.

PS - meatloaf doesn’t count as a grain.

Nice idea. I viewed it on the iPhone and it looks sharp. Perfect, since I don’t like writing lists…

How’s your project moving? I like the new front page (not sure how new it is).

You should open a suggestions page via uservoice. It is a great way to gain feedback.

    I have a few suggestions.

    1. Add a “Like” feature for people to share what they like and to collect “like” counts to display next to popular items.

    2. Integrate with Facebook/twitter using their API.

I was talking to my friends today and were all impressed with your concept. I’ll try to catch up with you sometime soon.
